NOTES: Universal Design Alliance is hosting 2006 Livable Lifetime Show House from March 11 to April 1. Will feature design elements used to produce convenient, safe, flexible home that meets changing needs of individuals and families throughout their lifetimes. Volunteers are needed for its success: 3-hour training and at least 2 shifts Saturday, 2006-03-11 through Saturday, 2006-04-01. NOTES: Peer Support is one person with a disability using their life experiences to support another person with a disability to learn life strategies, become a self-advocate and live more independently. One-to-one peer support would be provided by trained and certified peer supporters. Meetings between you and the peer supporter would be arranged by mutual convenience in your home or a location in the community.Perspective participants are those who:
- Have a disability
- Live in the Atlanta, Macon or Rome areas
- Have goals to become more independent
- Are interested in receiving peer support
- Are available to experience peer support between April and July 2006
- Agree to participate in The Georgia Peer Support Project evaluation

Presentation includes evidence grading pyramid, specific levels of evidence for models such as recovery self-management, drop-in centers, advance directives, and self-directed care. Focus is on results of national multi-site research study of consumer-operated service programs (COSP), directed by people in recovery, and funded by Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS).

NOTES: The Georgia Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities funds the Innovative Grants in order to respond to a barrier or issue for people with disabilities that has not been successfully addressed to any real extent in Georgia. The grants award up to $10,000 to successful applicants for one year, with the option to renew for a second year for an additional grant award.
